Who was Romare Bearden?

Romare Bearden was an artist who used collage to represent his southern childhood and urban jazzy lifestyle.  He is one of our inspirations for our current collage projects!

He often depicted rural workers, jazz musicians, or people in urban settings just hanging out.  He also often included trains in his artwork.
