Good Narratives: Lion King Edition

This week we are review the elements of Narrative Writing.  We watched a short clip from Lion King.  We pulled out the narrative elements:

• Setting
• Characterization: (What are the adjectives or nouns used to describe how the characters are feeling?)
• Important Dialogue
• Conflict

New Year, New School!!!

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year.  I am happy to be joining the staff at Benjamin Franklin School.  I will be a gifted intervention specialist teaching sixth grade gifted Language Arts and Science.  

Spring Break Fun Days

This Spring Break you don't have to stay at home, there are lots of fun things to do in Cleveland!!  Here are 5 things you can do this SPRING BREAK:

1. Go see "Pharaoh: King of Ancient Egypt" at Cleveland Museum of Art. Cleveland Museum of Art has FREE admission to the general exhibits.

2. Monday is Free Day at the Cleveland Zoo!

You can visit the monkeys, lions, and elephants.  Be sure to bring your parent with proof of Cleveland Residency.

A Tangled Web - Math Angle Game

Today in class we visited the BrainPop website and watched a video and played a math game.  Today we were reviewing angles.  Here is a link to the BrainPop website and a link to the game, Tangled Web.

Election Day

This year, Ohio is participating in a Presidential Primary.  Voters are choosing the candidates who will eventually be able to run for president. Want to meet the men and women running in Ohio's primary?

Government Study Guide

We've been studying Government in class this week.  Students will be responsible for knowing the three branches of the government along with the documents that our government uses.  This image below is a great representation of what each level of government does for us!  Next week we will talk about citizenship and what makes a good citizen. Don't forget Election Day is next week March 15, 2016!!
