First Day of School

Congratulations scholars, you made it past your first day of fourth grade!  (I knew you could do it!!!)

  Here's what we did today:

• We talked about Watterson Lake's 5 Rules.
• We made special nametag tents.
• We solved some challenging Math problems about our first day of school.
• We wrote cause/effect exit slips.
• We got TONS of forms to take home for our parents.

That's right parents ... you have homework tonight.  We need YOU to complete all of the forms that we sent home tonight.  I sent home an extra pen for you.  If students bring the completed forms tomorrow, they will get a prize.  (Yay!!!)

This Friday, August 14, Watterson Lake and Waverly schools will be hosting an ice cream social.  This event will be a great time for you to meet our teachers and see the school.  You can also check out the recently renovated playground.

First Day of School

Watterson Lake students, your first day back to school is August 17th.  Our new start time is 9:10.  Please plan to be to school on time!

School Supply List

Hello Families!  Here's this year's school supply list for Mrs. Carney's 4th Grade at Watterson Lake School.

1	Book Bag	3	Sturdy Folders
1	Pencil Pouch/Box	12+	Pencils
1	Box of 24 Crayons	1	Box of 8 Markers
1	Pkg. of Wide Ruled Notebook Paper	1	Box of Kleenex
2	Glue Sticks	2	Highlighters
1	Bottle of Hand Sanitizer	1	Pair of Scissors

Optional: Headphones or earbuds for use at classroom computers.

Supplies NOT permitted:

NO Binders of any kind – Our desks do not fit binders,

they will be sent home if brought into school.

NO Liquid Glue – This will be collected from students and not permitted in desks

NO Pencil Sharpeners (Hand Held) – Keep these for home use, please. 

Rulers, Colored Pencils, Highlighters, Scissors, and Ink Pens are also NOT necessary – Save these supplies for home. We will use group supplies for these items.

Back to School, Baby!!!!

Hello to all the students who are still enjoying summer.  In just a couple weeks you will be back at Watterson Lake.  The start of the school year means back to school supplies, a new teacher, and seeing all your friends again.   

Watterson Lake School Starts on August 17 at 9:10.  

Breakfast will be served at 8:45.  Can't wait to see you there!!!

Cleveland Museum of Art Tour

Friday we visited the Cleveland Museum of Art.  At the museum we were lucky enough to see an original work of art by Romare Bearden.  We have been studying Bearden throughout the year including looking at his collage artwork during our Arts for Learning program.  The students paired and shared their ideas about this artwork and also studied it's composition using our art vocabulary.  Here is the beautiful artwork, Wrapping it up at the Lafayette, 1974.
