Who was Romare Bearden?

Romare Bearden was an artist who used collage to represent his southern childhood and urban jazzy lifestyle.  He is one of our inspirations for our current collage projects!

He often depicted rural workers, jazz musicians, or people in urban settings just hanging out.  He also often included trains in his artwork.

Blizzard Bag Info

Blizzard Bags:

CMSD students shouldn’t lose a day of learning when it’s too snowy or cold to go to school. We know that students score lower on standardized tests as a result of lost learning time, even as early as kindergarten. We have created Blizzard Bags to provide students with learning activities to work on from home. Please note that Blizzard Bag packets cover 8 days, so only a portion of Blizzard Bag packets should be completed each day we do not have school. Blizzard Bags are available on the CMSD webpage at

http://clevelandmetroschools.org/Page/3474

There are Blizzard Bags for every grade-level and subject area.
